Higher-tier environmental fate studies

With our in-house field-fate team, we can design, deliver and interpret higher-tier studies to good-laboratory-practice (GLP) standards that address specific regulatory concerns, including

  • field leaching and dissipation studies
  • drainflow and run-off evaluations
  • testing infield and edge-of-field mitigation options
  • hard surface and farmyard losses
  • shallow and deep groundwater monitoring
  • volatilisation and redeposition studies
  • replicated plot studies using hydrologically isolated plot facilities
  • spray drift evaluation and testing of drift reduction technologies
  • crop interception and wash-off studies
  • field fate investigations
  • multi-site regulatory studies.

Examples of past higher-tier environmental fate studies delivered by CEA

  • Investigation of transport of soil sterilant through soil and from treated soil. Series of laboratory and field studies (across EU) designed, placed and monitored.
  • Investigation of run-off of a range of applied pesticides, in the field, including the design of bespoke systems for measuring the effect of different cultivation practices on loss via run-off.
  • Field drainage studies in the UK to calibrate loss from fields under realistic situations and real soils.
