Olha joined CEA in 2023 and works as a consultant in the environmental fate and behaviour group, bringing her skills as a modeller and data analyst to support clients. Olha uses programming languages such as R and Python to expedite the extraction, collection, and analysis of data that is necessary for regulatory submissions. Her robust data processing capabilities allow her to handle large, complex datasets to provide clear insights that support evidence-based decision-making for environmental risk assessments.
Olha has expertise with high-level FOCUS modelling, which is necessary for the authorization and registration of plant protection products. By applying refinements, Olha can support clients in producing precise exposure estimates.
Through her expertise in geographic information systems and spatial analysis, Olha refines environmental modelling, taking into account real-world use scenarios and using spatial data for higher-tier environmental risk assessments. Olha uses geospatial techniques to characterise the relationships between landscape features and land use, providing robust insights that can be used to refine exposure estimates and develop focused risk mitigation plans that are in line with regulatory goals.
Olha holds an MSc in chemical technology, an MRes in environmental technology, and a PhD in environmental science from the University of Limerick. Her prior experience in the agrochemical and pharmaceutical industries is put to use in her consulting work at CEA, helping us find novel solutions to our clients’ requests.
In her free time, Olha likes to collect miniature plants and enjoys cycling and endurance running.
